David Copperfield was written by Dickens and it is a long piece of fiction. The story is told almost entirely from the point of view of the first person narrator， David Copperfield himself. When reading this novel， I was totally attracted by not only the exciting plot but also the author‘s sprightly smooth and the humorous charming language.
The main character， David Copperfield is a diligent person who is good at observing. His father passed away in his early time， and his mother departed later， which made him make a living independently. At first， he was sent to do the child laborer. Latter， because cannot bear the maltreatment， he ran away to his aunt’s home. His aunt sent him to school， after graduate， he become a lawyer and marry his teacher’s daughter Dora. But soon， Dora died of disease and David leave for Australia with deep sorrow. After returning to homeland， he had become a writer and married Agnes， and from this time he starts the happy content life.
The novel plot is just like this，though there are not many soul-stirring scenes and imposing heroic achievement，lets me feel that I was appreciating a fresh picture.

The good servant Peggotty was kind all the time. What is your childhood like? Is it full of happiness or sadness? Is it full of harmony or quarrel? Or full of unfair treatment like the childhood of David, the main hero of “David Copperfield”, written by Charles Dickens in 1849?
David Copperfield was born six months after his father’s death. He had a happy childhood before his ninth birthday. But after his mother’s remarry and death, everything changed. His had to work in the laboratory of his stepfather when he was only ten years old! David ran away to his aunt for shelter, and begun his adventure of a new life.
Perhaps you will be curious about his later life. Yes, later on, David did have a happy life: he was send to school by his kind aunt and married a lovely girl and had many kids in the end.
You might think it’s too easy for David to be successful: What did he do? He just ran away to his aunt！But, if you were David Copperfield, would you run away? Do you have the courage to run away? Do you have the ability to run away? Can you conquer the difficulties you might have on your way to go? Well, you might be irresolute, hesitant since most of us, who are the apple of our parents’ eyes, the princes or princesses at home, are not able to suffer those possible sufferings. Therefore, we may miss the best opportunity to run away and even miss the chance to be happy or successful!
Do you think David’s trip is a smooth sailing? No! He had been tricked and lost all his money, so he even walked to Dover, where his aunt lived. Children, who were born after 1990, are growing under multiple protections of parents, teachers and relatives, we don’t have to worry about the fees of education, we don’t have to worry about food, and we don’t have to worry about housing either! We are so lucky to own all these things! And we are clever, healthy, and have rich materials for living and study, but we are still in some aspects. What are we penurious, and what are we still in want of? We are in want of something on the spirit, like courage, bravery and willpower! We are in want of some abilities, like how to conquer difficulties, which might happen to us everyday! Then, what kind of courage? The courage to fight against thieves and robbers? No! It’s the duty of the police officers’, not yours! What you need, is the courage too make a good choice or a right decision! The courage to be responsible for your action! Then, what kind of abilities? The ability to save people’s life? No! It’s the responsibility of the doctors, not yours! What you need is the abilities to conquer the difficulties brought by your decision!
You may ask: If David’s aunt also treated him very bad, what would he do? Would he run away again? I don’t know whether he will run or fight against or do something else. But I do know that what ever he does, he won’t stop pursuing the steps of happiness! What we need is not simply the courage to make a good decision or a choice. What we really need, is the belief and courage to seek the heaven of joy and cheer.
So, don’t be afraid of your right decision! Make full preparation and then, go ahead! Don’t be hesitant! Many persons become successful, because they made a good decision and got ready, and then went right to their goals! This kind of character will make lots of contributions to our future life!
Ha-ha, let me ask you again! Would you run away or not, if you were David Copperfield? Not matter what your answers are, please don’t stop searching your happiness.
