In general, the figures provided above suggest that new year’s presents, making up 40%, is the largest percentage, then next is traffic, party and gathering, and others at 20% respectively.
It goes far beyond any reasonable dispute that the above chart is a vivid reflection of a fairly familiar social phenomenon: people in mounting numbers spend too much on giving gifts to each other for the time being. Indeed, the previous few decades has witnessed the growing incidence of such a trend. And it’s so prevalent that a great deal of attention is being paid today to such a tide. 考研即考驗，年年如是，周而復(fù)始。時臨沖刺，很多考生在問一個問題：“最后一段時間，怎樣才能提高我的寫作水平？” 和同事閑聊，發(fā)現(xiàn)一個部分真理：Writing cannot be taught. 寫作水平的提升必是一個漫長的過程，一定不是靠老師教出來，而是靠自己悟出來。考研作文一不考independent writing，二不用critical thinking，嚴(yán)格意義上不應(yīng)該算作純粹的寫作考試。解構(gòu)一下，其實是個中文構(gòu)思+英語翻譯的“混血”。考場之上不存在絕對意義上的優(yōu)秀作文，存在的只是符合標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的作文。這其實也就意味著，我們必須對照標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，寫出考研所要求的“功利”作文，在考感中體會語感，通過掌握考試規(guī)律來提高我們的應(yīng)考能力與作文“成績”。
一、評分
知己知彼，百戰(zhàn)不殆。通過對于往屆考生在考場上構(gòu)建的歷年真題作文，對比著分?jǐn)?shù)仔細(xì)研究從而熟悉老師的評分習(xí)慣，對于08屆的考生正常甚至是超常發(fā)揮自身水平極有幫助。老師寫的范文再好也不如學(xué)生寫的來得有參考意義。
就同學(xué)們最為關(guān)心的大作文而言，“評分重點在于內(nèi)容的完整性、文章的組織連貫性、語法結(jié)構(gòu)和詞匯的多樣性及語言的準(zhǔn)確性”。不難看出，最讓大家頭痛的語言方面，大作文從未要求考生寫出華美的句子，只對語言的準(zhǔn)確與變化做出了規(guī)定。如何保證在全文表達(dá)、語法、拼寫準(zhǔn)確的情況下追求詞匯的variety，以及句子開頭、結(jié)構(gòu)與長短的變化，變成最后一段時間考生需重點關(guān)注的內(nèi)容。
小作文的評分側(cè)重點在于“信息點的覆蓋和內(nèi)容的組織、語言的準(zhǔn)確性、格式和語域的恰當(dāng)”。特別需要提醒考生注意的一點是小作文“允許在作文中使用提示語中出現(xiàn)的關(guān)鍵詞，但使用提示語中出現(xiàn)過的詞組或句子將被扣分”。有心的同學(xué)對照著看看自己寫的06年小作文，是否有照抄提示語中出現(xiàn)的表達(dá)？(07年小作文提示語太短，想抄也沒得抄~)
于是，基礎(chǔ)較好，以第五檔(17-20分)為目標(biāo)的同學(xué)，在不犯錯誤的情況下盡可能追求卓越——行走江湖，勝向險中求；基礎(chǔ)較弱，以及格分為目標(biāo)的同學(xué)，以不犯錯誤為目的，盡可能追求簡單，謹(jǐn)記安全第一。
二、審題
人也忙，淚也忙，暗暗訴泣悲語長。文字寫的再好，審題掛掉了，眼淚都沒有了。考研英語寫作屬于可控制性話題(controlled writing)，審題須在出題者預(yù)設(shè)控制范圍之中。考生的作文應(yīng)該是對于題目的合理回應(yīng)(response to the task requirement)。有去年的學(xué)員問，老師，07年閱卷是否存在壓分的現(xiàn)象？我覺得自己作文寫的挺好的！仔細(xì)問了問他考場之上的審題，大作文寫的方向是一個人應(yīng)該從辨證的角度，不同的視角面對人生，小作文給學(xué)校圖書館提出的三點建議是：多購進(jìn)新書；增加存包位的數(shù)量；多購置電腦。如果考生讀到此處發(fā)現(xiàn)這些審題似曾相識，恭喜，重在參與了。07年小作文無任何細(xì)化信息點的提示，但隱性關(guān)鍵詞出現(xiàn)在情景中——SERVICE，也就意味著寫作的'重點應(yīng)放在如何促進(jìn)服務(wù)上而不是關(guān)注硬件上。你可以寫圖書館的電腦應(yīng)能接入到互聯(lián)網(wǎng)，工作人員效率和服務(wù)態(tài)度應(yīng)該提高，新書流通渠道應(yīng)該放寬……Similarly，06年中要求提供“financial aid”，其他的援助渠道(如捐物捐書，下鄉(xiāng)支邊，免費家教)并不符合情景要求；05年小作文辭職是因為“now you find that the work is not what you expected”，設(shè)題陷阱可見一斑。因此，父母需要照顧不是辭職原因，自己希望深造不是原因，工資待遇太低同樣不是原因，但專業(yè)所學(xué)無法發(fā)揮，難以融入企業(yè)文化，工作壓力太大，薪酬不像原先許諾的那般全都是符合要求的原因。
三、印象
考研作文閱卷，工作量大，任務(wù)繁重，更為關(guān)鍵的是，是以閱卷份數(shù)作為報酬體制。于是，閱卷過程往往簡化成為字?jǐn)?shù)——段落——審題——首段——語言——結(jié)構(gòu)的過程也就不難理解。得開頭者得天下。對于像作文這樣的主觀題而言，考生與閱卷老師從來就猶如博弈。大作文一定要保證足夠的字?jǐn)?shù)。最新文章長度扣分標(biāo)準(zhǔn)規(guī)定：少10個字以內(nèi)扣1分；少10～20個字扣2.5分；少20～30字扣4分；少30～40字扣6分；字?jǐn)?shù)不超過100扣12分。由于閱卷過程中老師不可能具體去數(shù)文章有多少字，為了保證不因為閱卷人員主觀上的視覺差異導(dǎo)致扣分，最穩(wěn)妥的辦法就是稍多于標(biāo)準(zhǔn)字?jǐn)?shù)。大頭或小頭娃娃般的段落結(jié)構(gòu)一定摒棄，中間段闡釋漫畫含義的過程一定要力求深入涉及到問題本質(zhì)，同時保證足夠多的字?jǐn)?shù)。
另外，最好現(xiàn)在就想好考場之上大小兩篇作文運用何種格式，若是齊頭，注意段與段之間空行；若是縮進(jìn)，注意段首空4~5個英語字母。你的字可以寫的很難看，但是一定要清晰易辨，保證卷面整潔，字體大小適宜。
四、結(jié)構(gòu)
建議考生臨考前回歸到圖畫作文的準(zhǔn)備之上。結(jié)合最近幾年出題的特點，雙圖似乎漸成趨勢。不管是雙圖互補(兩幅圖畫態(tài)度相同，并列關(guān)系，如06、07)還是雙圖對比(兩幅圖畫態(tài)度相反，轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系，如03、00)，描述過程中一定要分清主次，體現(xiàn)圖畫中的邏輯關(guān)系。考場上結(jié)合具體的direction關(guān)鍵詞選擇文章功能段落的構(gòu)建：
07——describe / explain / example
06——describe / interpret / view
05——describe / interpret / comment
04——describe / interpret / example
圖畫描述、意義闡釋、建議評論、舉例論證，一共四種功能段落，每一種假若都能操作熟練，考場上寫作只不過是一個排列組合的過程。正是鑒于此，全文模板的弊病顯露無疑。太多學(xué)員在07年的考場上拿全文模板進(jìn)行寫作拿到了極低的分?jǐn)?shù)，本質(zhì)原因在于不知道變通。作文第三段要求寫作的“例子”的具體內(nèi)容可是無任何模板可言的！
就微觀結(jié)構(gòu)而言，考生需在沖刺階段強化練習(xí)論證方法和文章銜接手段(cohesive devices)。一般說來，因為英語寫作往往重心前置，于是開頭寫作中心主線(thesis statement)的時候要明確清晰。在進(jìn)行論證的時候要運用恰當(dāng)?shù)恼Z篇模式(如exemplification舉例說明，cause and effect因果論證, comparison and contrast比較對比等)。銜接手段主要有語法手段(對應(yīng)、省略、替代、連接)和詞匯手段(重復(fù)、同反義、上下義、具體抽象、語義場)。段落內(nèi)部句間的銜接主要依靠“還原邏輯詞”的理念。中文是一個尚世功的疏懶型語言，與法治的英語有著太大的不同，翻譯過程中需加以轉(zhuǎn)化，如：
無主句：四十不惑。(一個人到了他四十歲的時候他就會沒有任何疑惑。)
省邏輯：雨下的很大，我不能來了。(我不能到你這來了因為現(xiàn)在雨下的很大。)
五、表達(dá)
語言作為評分原則中的基本要素之一，要求考研同學(xué)注意多樣性和準(zhǔn)確性。如不知如何把肚子里的中文表達(dá)成英文，除了最后沖刺階段重點專項訓(xùn)練中譯英單句外，考前一定要體會清楚同義改寫的策略：
07年自信self-confidence → 相信自己believing in oneself
06年偶像崇拜idol worship → 盲目喜愛明星loving the superstars in a blind way
05年孝順filial piety → 養(yǎng)老provide for the aged → 資助finance and support
04年終點線the finishing line → 目的地destination
最后，寬同學(xué)們一個心，語言學(xué)中研究指出，當(dāng)語言學(xué)習(xí)者掌握了1500個積極詞匯時就能夠描述所有事情，于是，你現(xiàn)在的詞匯水平完全夠用。重點的不是在于背了多少單詞，而是在于是否能夠有本事用簡單詞表達(dá)出復(fù)雜意。有興趣的同學(xué)可從網(wǎng)上down些VOA慢速英語的文本仔細(xì)揣摩體會。
六、檢查
好的作文不是寫出來的，一定是靠改出來的。文壇大家無一不數(shù)易其稿，仔細(xì)推敲方能成就一代名篇。所以，考前寫作數(shù)目不需太多，但每寫一篇，it counts. 可以考慮參加一些網(wǎng)上的互助批改小組，他人畢竟身在山外，能提出一些很好的建議。若無條件，可通過對作文參考書中的中文作文做互譯的練習(xí)，把自己寫的和英語范文之間做比較，自己體會不同。另外，考場之上修改作文無需對結(jié)構(gòu)和內(nèi)容做大范圍的刪改，只需關(guān)注審題、拼寫、搭配、語法、字?jǐn)?shù)等。
七、模板
沖刺階段總結(jié)屬于自己的獨有模板，對于各種基礎(chǔ)的學(xué)員都有意義。因為誰也無法判定考場之上是否擁有足夠的可能順利構(gòu)建一篇嶄新的文章。個人建議按上文提出的四種功能段落專項準(zhǔn)備模板，然后拿各種文章熟練套寫，強化改寫和填空的能力。這就要求學(xué)生具備將句子往模板的方向想的能力(基礎(chǔ)是中文改寫的能力)。同樣的模板分?jǐn)?shù)差異很大，說明中間填充的內(nèi)容往往起著更加重要的作用。
八、順序
考研試題可允許隨便跨區(qū)。很多老師都有不同的建議，對此，筆者不予置評。只是提醒有想法在考場之上先寫作文的考生一定要在考前至少運用4~8套題練練手，培養(yǎng)做題的pace。因為不出意外，大部分中國同學(xué)早已經(jīng)習(xí)慣了先有語言輸入才能有語言輸出。
九、心理
考生到此階段，內(nèi)心充盈的感覺有兩種：焦慮感和內(nèi)疚感。于是，心理的自我暗示與調(diào)節(jié)便顯得尤為關(guān)鍵。蜜蜂整日忙碌，贏得表彰；蚊子不停奔波，無人贊揚。多么努力不重要，為什么努力才重要，朝著正確的方向努力更加重要。此刻，培養(yǎng)一下阿Qsim，在床頭放珠水仙未嘗不是一個方法。徜徉周末的下午，慵懶的冬日陽光斜灑，偶爾到草坪上消磨一個一個時間，去湖邊發(fā)幾寸悠長的呆吧。
十、提示
每天起床時賴5分鐘床，憧憬一下考上后的美好生活，然后回到現(xiàn)實，思忖一下今天復(fù)習(xí)的重點是什么；每天盡量早睡早起，熬夜不再必要，保證一天精神最旺盛的時候是考試的時間段；該玩則玩，每天挑若干個固定時間放松自己并將表撥快5分鐘；隨身攜帶空白卡片，隨時記錄自己突然想起但又不太確定的復(fù)習(xí)點；晚上挑半小時和研友討論當(dāng)天復(fù)習(xí)心得及彼此對于試題的預(yù)測；建立考試生物鐘，提高答題速度；考前一天去考場踩下點，熟悉一下考場周圍環(huán)境，明確路線，準(zhǔn)備考場工具包(相關(guān)證件+字號較粗的筆+功能飲料＋巧克力＋保暖＋厚鞋)。

These two drawings, apparently, can be associated with two distinct habits. In the left one, there is a girl beside a desk, being absorbed in learning, with an idea in her mind —it is advisable to complete as early as possible. By contrast, in the right picture, a young guy sits leisurely in a sofa, telling himself, “I need not act until the deadline.” Finally, two Chinese characters can be noticed, which say “habit”.
Successful figures are usually characterized by their diverse merits, including diligence, perseverance and striving every day. However, in reality, a host of youngsters are accustomed to taking no action until the last day. 一、指代方面的錯誤
在使用代詞it，he，this，that，which，one等時，前文中應(yīng)出現(xiàn)明確的先行詞。
如：Since we cannot know what particular bit of knowledge a child will need in the future，it is senseless to force him to learn it.，這句話中，him和it這兩個代詞都有明確的先行詞，分別是a child和knowledge，因此句子的含義非常清楚。
可是，不少學(xué)生在使用這些代詞時，雖然自己很清楚它們指代的是什么，但在作文中卻沒有交代清楚，結(jié)果這些代詞非但沒有使行文簡潔，反而造成了意思上的模糊，讓閱卷老師不知所云。
誤：Sometimes teachers will inform students of the heavy burden they have to bear.
正：Sometimes the teacher will inform students of the heavy burden he has to bear.
【說明】句1中的they既可指教師，也可指學(xué)生，屬指代不清的。可以把它們中的任意一個改成單數(shù)名詞。因為單數(shù)名詞也可以泛指一類。
二、修飾方面的錯誤
修飾語應(yīng)緊靠被修飾的成分，并和它形成正確的邏輯關(guān)系。如果修飾語的位置不妥當(dāng)，就會造出模棱兩可的病句。
誤：To keep the air clean, we must move the factories which give off poisonous gases to the countryside.
正：To keep the air clean, we must move the factories to the countryside if they give off poisonous gases.
【說明】句1要表達(dá)的是把有害氣體排放到農(nóng)村，還是把工廠遷到農(nóng)村去?顯然修飾語to the countryside的位置放錯了。如句2改變一下結(jié)構(gòu)，就能清楚地表達(dá)要表達(dá)的意思了。
三、一致方面的錯誤
在一個句子內(nèi)部或緊鄰的兩三個句子之間，要保持時態(tài)、人稱、數(shù)等的一致。
誤：Whether one enjoys or resents advertisements, we are actually bombarded with it every hour of the day.
正：Whether we enjoy or resent advertisements, we are actually bombarded with them every hour of the day.
【說明】代詞應(yīng)與所指代的先行詞保持人稱和數(shù)上的一致。句1也可改成Whether one enjoys or resents the advertisement, he is actually bombarded with it every hour of the day.
四、平行結(jié)構(gòu)方面的錯誤
這里專指語態(tài)、比較級、非謂語形式、冠詞用法、可數(shù)名詞和不可數(shù)名詞、不定代詞單復(fù)數(shù)以及時態(tài)等錯誤。
1、誤：Narrow streets easily cause to happen many traffic accidents.
正：narrow streets easily cause many traffic accidents. (to happen)
誤：A great change has been taken place since then.
正：A great change has taken place since then.
誤：But it may occur some new problems.
正：But some new problems may occur/arise.
誤：Opportunities are only belonged to those who work hard.
正：Opportunities only belong to those who work hard.
【說明】happen，take place，occur，arise等動詞和動詞詞組一般既不能用作被動結(jié)構(gòu)，也不能作為及物動詞帶賓語的。但學(xué)生作文中類似的錯誤較多：Our country has taken place a great change in many fields.
2、誤：The pace of our modern life is getting more faster and faster.
正：The pace of our modern life is getting faster and faster.
誤：Electricity is the most important power in our daily life than other kinds of power.
正：Electricity is the most important power in our daily life.
誤：Thus our city will be greatly beautiful than it is now.
正：Thus our city will be far more beautiful than it is now.
【說明】這些都是在使用比較形式時出現(xiàn)的錯誤。尤其是第1例較普遍。如more easier，more stronger等。
五、斷句方面的錯誤
一句句子沒有結(jié)束，又開始新的一句，結(jié)果造成句子結(jié)構(gòu)不全，這就成為斷句。
誤：TV becomes an important part in our daily life. Because we cannot live without it.
正：TV becomes an important part in our daily life，because we cannot live without it.
【說明】以because，since，if等引導(dǎo)的從句是不能獨立成句的`，只能依屬于主句，所以不能寫成另一句。
六、連詞方面的錯誤
作文中缺少必要的連詞，或錯用連詞的現(xiàn)象也比較普遍。
誤：One should improve his English，one should overcome difficulties in studies.
正：If one wants to improve his English，he should overcome difficulties in studies.
【說明】學(xué)生在寫作中往往意識不到連詞的重要，不善于使用連詞和連接副詞來明確標(biāo)示出因果關(guān)系、轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系、遞進(jìn)關(guān)系等。
七、搭配方面的錯誤
學(xué)生作文中用詞搭配方面的錯誤也占有較大比例。曾經(jīng)在一次六級作文閱卷中，近千篇作文在表達(dá)上海交通越來越擁擠這個意思時，幾乎沒有一篇用 heavier，大多數(shù)人用的是The traffic in Shanghai is getting more and more crowded，而traffic是不能與crowded搭配的。
1、誤：However the speed of a car is much faster than that of a bicycle.
正：However the speed of a car is much higher than that of a bicycle.
【說明】speed只能和high，low，good，top，normal，fantastic，moderate，surprising等搭配，不能與fast，quick，slow搭配。但可以這樣說A car is much faster in speed than a bicycle.
2、誤：In the past the price of milk was so expensive that most families could not afford it.
正：In the past the price of milk was so high that most families couldnt afford it.
【說明】price只和high，low，inflated，moderate，minimum，original，popular，prevailing，published，reduced，reasonable等搭配，不能與expensive，cheap搭配，但可以說In the past，milk was so expensive that most families couldnt afford it.
由此可見，要提高對詞語搭配的駕馭能力，除了要在平時的閱讀過程中多積累，還需要克服中文中諸如速度快、價格貴、學(xué)習(xí)知識、人減少等搭配的影響，避免寫出look book或see book這樣的笑話來。
八、誤用方面
學(xué)生作文中對詞語的誤用也相當(dāng)普遍，誤用詞語不僅不能準(zhǔn)確地表達(dá)作者的意思，而且也會鬧出笑話。
1、誤：With the industrious development，there is a great need for different kinds of energy.
正：With the industrial development，there is a great need for different kinds of energy.
2、誤：Most big cities are plagued by traffic jams which effect our daily life.
正：Most big cities are plagued by traffic jams which affect our daily life.
【說明】以上錯句都是因為對形容詞的辨析不清而造成的。Industrious是勤勞的，工業(yè)上的應(yīng)為industrial。effect一般用作名詞，其動詞形式表示產(chǎn)生、實現(xiàn)，而這里的意思是影響，應(yīng)換成affect。
