　　Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province and an important industrial, commercial and financial city in southwestern China.

　　Located in one if the country's richest agricultural plains,Chengdu has 12,390sq.km. By rail,Chengdu is 2,048 km from Beijing and slightly over 2 hours by air of Beijing. Itcan also be reached by a less than 20 hours train rides with about 250 Km of tunnels. With an altitude of 500 meters, it has a temperate climate and abudant rainfall in summer. The population of Chengdu is about 9.60 million-divided among 8 districts,4 outlyihg cities and 8 counties. About 1.4 million people reside in the city center.
