過去完成時(shí)態(tài)：表示一個(gè)動(dòng)作發(fā)生在過去某一時(shí)間之前或某一動(dòng)作之前，即過去的過去。常用于：
（1）賓語從句中，表示發(fā)生在過去某一時(shí)間之前的動(dòng)作，即主句用一般過去時(shí)，從句用過去完成時(shí)。
He told me that he had bought a new computer.
（2）在有by, before等構(gòu)成的時(shí)間的介詞短語的句子中。
By the first half of the match, we had kicked four goals.
They had finished all the work before ten o’clock.
（3）當(dāng)后面有when, before, after等引導(dǎo)的從句時(shí)。
She had gone to bed when I came back.

4. exciting / excited
表示“心理”或“情感”的動(dòng)詞，加-ing或ed構(gòu)成。
-ing的形容詞表示主動(dòng)意義，可以作定語修飾表示物的名詞，也可以作表語、補(bǔ)足語、主語一般為某物或某事，“令人……的”
ed表示被動(dòng)，指人的一種心理活動(dòng)，“感到…的”，主語一般是人。
exciting adj. “令人興奮的/振奮的”

excited adj. “興奮的、激昂的”

5. by the time
“到…的時(shí)候”后常跟一個(gè)一般過去時(shí)的句子來修飾time.
而句子的謂語動(dòng)詞要用過去完成時(shí)態(tài)

8. Never mind 的用法
（1）當(dāng)別人向你道歉時(shí)，回答用Never mind 表示“沒關(guān)系，不要緊”，相當(dāng)于It doesn’t matter.
－I’m sorry to keep you waiting for a long time.
－Never mind.
（2）當(dāng)別人為你擔(dān)心時(shí)用“Never mind”表示沒關(guān)系。請(qǐng)別人放心。
－Wait.
－What for?
－Your foot’s hurt.
－Never mind.
（3）當(dāng)別人主動(dòng)指出給你幫助時(shí)用“Never mind”，表示謝絕。
－Let me help you to carry the box.
－Never mind. It isn’t heavy. I can do it myself.
9. such / such …as / such … that
A. such adj. “如此的、這樣的”修飾各種名詞。
（1）such＋可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)或不可數(shù)名詞。

（2）such +a / an ＋可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)

Basketball is one sport -perhaps the only sport-whose exact origin（確切的起源）can safely be told. During the winter of 1891 -1892, Dr James Naismith, a college instructor（大學(xué)講師）in Springfield, Massachusetts, invented the game of basketball in order to provide（提供）exercise for the students between the closing of the football season and the opening of the baseball season. He attached（系）fruit baskets overhead on the walls at opposite ends of the gymnasium（體育館）, and, using a soccer ball, organized（組織）nine-man teams to play his new game. In this new game the purpose（目的）was to toss （投）the ball into one basket and try to keep the oppsting team from tossing the ball into the other basket. Although there have been many changes in the rules（such as the reduction of the number of players on a team from nine to five）, the game is basically（基本地）the same today. The United States soldiers took it to the Philippines in 1900 and to Europe during World War I, and, being adopted（被采用）by foreign countries , it soon became a world-wide sport.
