賓語從句三要素：
1. 關聯(lián)詞
2. 語序

賓語從句的引導詞：
1）當從句是陳述句時用that來引導，在口語或非正式文體中可省略。
I hear （that） he will be back in a month.
2） 當從句是一般疑問句時，用if 或 whether（是否）來引導賓語從句。
當句末有or not時，只能用whether.
Will he come?
I don’t know if / whether he will come.
I was not sure whether he would come or not.
3） 賓語從句是特殊疑問句時用who, whose , whom, which, what, when, where, how, why等單詞引導。
The teacher want to know why he didn’t come to school yesterday.
I don’t know who can help me.
Can you tell me where I can buy some stamps?
賓語從句的語序：
一定用陳述句的語序，即主語在前，謂語動詞在后。
I don’t know. Could he pass the exam?
I don’t know whether he could pass the exam or not.
我不知道他是否能通過考試。
Could you tell me? When will Tom come back?
Could you tell me when Tom will come back？
你能告訴我湯姆什么時候回來嗎？
賓語從句的時態(tài)：
1）當主句是一般現(xiàn)在時，賓語從句可以根據(jù)實際需要用各種時態(tài)。
He says that
he will ask Mr. Wu some questions.
Jim isn’t lazy.
Jim is doing very well in his lessons.
Jim may fall behind the other students.
2） 如果主句的謂語動詞是一般過去時，賓語從句必須用過去時的某種形式。
A. 從句的動作和主句的動作緊接發(fā)生，從句用一般過去時。
Mr. King didn’t know when his son came home
B. 當從句的動作和主句的動作同時發(fā)生，則從句用過去進行時。
He said he was working hard on his English.
C. 如果賓語從句的動作發(fā)生在主句動作前，則從句用過去完成時。
They asked me where I had been during the May day holidays.
D. 如果賓語從句的動作發(fā)生在主句動作后，則賓語從句用過去將來時。

E. 如果賓語從句表示的是 客觀真理，其謂語動詞則用一般現(xiàn)在時。

happen 意思是“發(fā)生”，沒有被動形式，只有主動語態(tài)。
表示某事發(fā)生在某人身上，用happen to sb.的短語

happen to do 還有“偶然發(fā)生，碰巧”的意思
