1．不定冠詞的用法
(1)泛指人、事物的類別
A plane is a machine that call fly．飛機是一種會飛的機器。
(2)泛指某人、某物
A boy is waiting for you．有個孩子在等你。
(3)用于某些固定詞組中及習慣用的詞組中
a lot of，in a hurry，as a matter of fact，a few, all of a sudden,
as a matter of fact, as a rule, be in a position to, a matter of course, all of a sudden, be at a loss, have a chance, have a good time, have a hand in, have a say, have a try, keep an eye on, on a large scale, with a firm hand, take a fancy to, be in a hurry, take a walk, take an interest in，etc.
(4)用于某些抽象名詞前，表示"一種、一類、一份、一陣、一場等等"

2．定冠詞的用法
(1)用于再次提到的特指的、雙方都知道的人或物名詞之前。
The red book in the desk is mine．
(2)用于世上獨一無二的事物前
the sun，the moon，the earth，the sky
(3)用在序數詞、最高級、特定比較級前the first。the tallest，the better of the two
(4)用在由普通名詞構成的專有名詞前the Great Wall，the United States

4．冠詞的一些特殊用法及綜合用法
(1)月份、星期、學科、季節、三餐等名詞前一般的不加冠詞，但表特指時應加the。如：the spring of 1992, a Tuesday in October
(2)"by+交通工具"表示一種交通手段，不加冠詞，但表示具體的交通工具時，要加冠詞。He goes to school by bike／on a bike．
(3)turn后面的名詞不用冠詞：turn teacher．
(4)下列詞組中有無冠詞，含義天壤之別：

1．C room是不可數名詞，所以不能加冠詞或使用復數形式。"three more persons"意為"另外"三個人 。 more是另外的意思，只能放在數詞后面。

3．A "the+形容詞比較級''的意思是"越．…．，越…．．"選項B．真C，D的錯誤在于形容詞比較級前加了more．More放在雙音節或多音節形容詞前構成比較級。

2．名詞的復數形式
(1) 規則變化：①一般在詞尾加一s；②以s，x，ch，sh結尾的名詞常加一es；③以"輔音字母+ y"結尾的名詞，變y為i，再加一es；④以f，fe結尾的名詞，多數將f或fe改為v，再加一es；也有直接加一s的；⑤以"輔音字母+o"結尾的名詞，多加一es；以"元音字母+o"結尾的名詞，多加一s。
(2) 不規則變化：①改變元音或詞尾；②單復數同形；③合成名詞通常將主體名詞變為復數，沒有則將最后一個名詞變為復數；④由man， woman構成的合成詞，各部分均變為復數。
3．名詞所有格
(1)負所有格：①在表示有生命的東西的名詞詞尾加's；②詞尾是一s或一es的復數名詞，末尾只加's；③詞尾無一s或一es的復數名詞，末尾加's；④若一物為兩人共有，則在后一個名詞后加's；若為各自所有，則在兩個名詞之后都加's；⑤有些表示時間、距離、國家、城鎮、組織、價值等無生命的名詞后加's。
(2)of所有格：①表示無生命東西的名詞一般與of構成詞組；②有些表示有生命東西的名詞，若有較長的定語，一般也用of詞組表示所有關系。
(3)雙重所有格：①用于有生命的東西(尤其是人)的所有關系；②必須用于表示明確對象的所有關系，of后面應用限定的名詞或代詞。
