(as) pale as chalk是一種明喻修辭結構，雖然英語把蒼白比作chalk(白堊，一種白色石灰巖)，但漢語不可真譯，相當于我們說的“慘白；蒼白”。

今天你看著面色蒼白，哪里不舒服？
另外值得注意的是，漢語描述不健康的人的面部顏色時常用“白”字，如“煞白；蒼白；灰白”等等，英語常用pale來表達。

★either表示“兩者中的任何一個”，作主語時，謂語動詞常用單數形式。

both ... and ... 連接主語時，謂語動詞用復數形式；either ... or ... 與neither ... nor ... 連接主語時，謂語動詞常與離它最近的主語在人稱和數上保持一致。
